Please complete the form below to consent that your child is eligible to participate in the Level Three Earth and Space Science field trip organized by the Whangaparaoa College Science department on
Friday August 2nd 2019
. This is to support the teaching and learning of AS91413 - Ocean Systems.
Learners will be visitng the
University of Auckland Marine Laboratory and Discovery Centre at Leigh to complete
practical experiments around the topic of ocean acidification and learn about the impacts of ocean acidification on NZ species.
The practical and theory components will be lead by University staff and take place under the supervision of the Earth and Space classroom teachers, Mr Hodson, Mr Gempton and Mrs Tatum.
The Bus will depart from the college at 8:40am to transport the learners to the University of Auckland Marine Laboratory for a 10am start. We will return to school for 3pm. The cost is covered by the course related costs. The Board requires course related costs to be paid prior to any involvement in trips, sports and other activities. This policy will be strictly enforced. Learners are required to be in correct school uniform for this trip and should bring morning tea and lunch. Please note that there is no shop or cafe at the Discovery Centre.
